How can this happen in a city of 60,000 apathetic people...oh, that's right, because they are apathetic

Why are two of a former mayor's daughters on the city payroll?

Why are xxxxxxxxxx related to two scoundrels two of the xxxxx  xxxxx   xxxxx in the city?

Why is a city councilor related to two questionable characters and a father who put a smoke bomb in his best friend's pocket taking a wrecking ball to the city with buffoonery and votes that show the councilor as a sycophant and prankster who doesn't take the city council or its oath seriously!

Medford Police Department officers "were among the highest earning city workers." Not only that, our city council - which votes its own pay raise - is one of the highest paid in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts - how can Medford, Massachusetts justify such outrageous pay when our city already suffered The Cops are Robbers scandal noted in a book and a TV movie of the week!!

"Feb 8, 1987 - In his most startling testimony, Mr. Clemente recalled that he and Thomas K. Doherty, then a lieutenant in the Medford police and now one of..." So after the book and the movie, The Cops are Robbers .... NEXT LINE REDACTED SO THE EDITOR DOESN'T GET FURTHER HARASSED!

Look, each individual should be given credit for their own merits or faults but it is staggering that in a city that this kind of crazy money is distributed in such a bizarre way when Medford has broken streets and so many issues (the police chief's failure to do the right thing in the case of a cop who finally crossed the line in public and threatened to shoot a Malden man in the head, police officers who have assaulted wives, business partners, sought out prostitutes etc. etc etc.) and Medford citizens are helpless when it comes to where the money goes

If a citizen asks the right questions they get a phony "witness intimidation" suit or lose civil rights and get dragged out of their home with phony conduct from the corruption that is rampant in our city. As one mayoral candidate puts it "A culture of corruption" (in Medford) and it seeps into our community be it an untrustworthy city lawyer, alleged "Human Rights Commission" with the suspicious chief of police and suspicious "Diversity Director" and highly suspicious mayor. It takes courage to write about the deficiencies at the high school and the deficiencies at city hall or at the police station with the eyes that read this page. Someone has to stand up for the citizenry being taken advantage of, ripped off and maligned. When a city lawyer is removed from a witness stand by a judge with a simple word, "objection," while that lawyer is besmirching a victim there to get an extension on an "harassment prevention order" and the judge removes the city lawyer for having testimony that is "irrelevant" you see where your monies are going. The city lawyer in question, instead of leaving and going back to work, stayed all day at the courthouse, talking to two individuals who were on a board of directors with him that he chose to investigate, and squash the investigation saying the AG would handle it. Did you read that? One of your city lawyers, rather than tell the court his testimony would be irrelevant, showed up, was embarrassed and thrown off of the witness stand, and didn't go back to work but stayed and had conversation with two board members that he, that particular city lawyer, took it upon himself to "investigate" (read: hush it up) on a board of directors that the particular lawyer was appointed to by a former mayor.______________________________________

From Muckrock article:
Other actions by the MPD also suggest questionable department discretion — perhaps at the expense of transparency and accountability. The Boston Globe reported in 2011 that MPD officers were among the highest earning city workers. The MPD department headquarters is currently slated to be rebuilt by 2020, a response to employee complaints about the conditions of the police station. The records division, however, has no clearly allocated funds in the 2019 fiscal budget, and representatives of the MPD were unable to confirm how much is allocated to the operation of the records department. https://www.muckrock.com/news/archives/2018/oct/17/medford-police-department-feature/
