Imagine going into the boxing ring with a vicious Mike Tyson and blowing kisses at him? That's called a one second knock-out.
Imagine going in to a court of law being "optimistic" without a good offense, or defense. When the N.E. Patriots drop the hammer on
you as they did the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday, well...
A woman who gives the middle finger to firefighters is without honor and there's no place in an honest corner office for that kind of charlatan, meaning the current occupant of the 85 Geo P. Hassett Drive, 2nd floor, who stashes her own mother in Medford Housing when other poor seniors could be living there. The mayor and her husband are looking at huge pensions, and they can't bring dear old mom home?
Breanna Lungo-Koehn, Mayor Burke's opponent, writes in her campaign missive today: "As the election gets closer we all know that social media can spark some intense conversation. We ask our supporters to please remain positive, optimistic, honest, and respectful. I know this can be very difficult but our campaign goal has been always to remain truthful and positive and to focus on what we believe the future of Medford can be with new leadership!"
a)How did that work out for Bobby Penta? (2015) For David McKillop? (2017) It didn't.
b)Who are these consultants advising Breanna, the McGlynn & McGlynn law firm in Salem?
Unfortunately the world of politics is slimy, messy and makes a sausage factory look like a Disney film. How did "When they go low, we go high" work out for Hillary Clinton, the better, more refined, more knowledgeable candidate?
You have a Mayor, Mike McGlynn, with no scruples, and his front man, Stephanie Muccini-Burke, more than willing to hurl invective at citizens, let alone candidates she doesn't want anywhere near city hall.
Breanna Lungo Koehn is the more popular candidate, which is why a desperate McGlynn/Muccini-Burke ticket is going to get ugly.
Muccini-Burke has a massive war chest, and oodles of political connections making for a daunting race.
This isn't a garden club, it's an election with high stakes.
When I came to Medford I was courteous, friendly, that "positive, optimistic, honest and respectful" person Breanna talks about.
They dragged my name through the mud, made up every horrible lie about me, physically assaulted me, filed false charges, and expected me to shut up and go away.
My response was to humiliate ex City Council president Robert A. Maiocco Jr. in such a way with his Wells Fargo problems that he walked away from politics after threatening me with a dirty metal pipe. My response was to excoriate his nephew by marriage, Paul A. Camuso - who has left Medford politics for the civil service commission; have nice old uncle Gene removed from the board of the Medford Housing Authority courtesy of Deval Patrick; shut down TV3, find that the Mayor had not taken her Open Meeting Law exam and forced her to do so; found the mayor and school superintendent in violation of the Open Meeting Law with that Chapter 74 fiasco, and pretty much introduced this city to public records requests and FOIA - Freedom of Information Act.
My dear pal the City Solicitor advised me in the TV 3 battles: "When you're in a fight, fight." He just didn't think I would take his legal advice to heart.
Well I did, and got a Judge to throw the city lawyer off of the witness stand for his irrelevant attacks on me.
Daisies and daffodils don't win elections, fighting and fighting hard are how they are won. If insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results, playing footsie with a vicious mayor like the current one and the one before her will result in a spectacular loss.
You citizens have been to this rodeo before. Breanna Lungo-Koehn needs to take the gloves off if she is serious about becoming the next Mayor of Medford, otherwise they'll stop talking to their own mother, as one council candidate is alleged to be doing right now, and steal this election, again.
Every city and town has issues with ethical politicians and government officials. Medford is one of the worst dating back to when McGlynn's father set the table for this current syndicate which resembles a Francis Ford Coppola film rather than progressive, helpful city government.
They take an oath to serve the citizens of Medford, and they fracture that oath, they spit on that oath, they show you no respect and, God knows, if you investigate them as I have over the past 17 years, they lose it and go bonkers.
They resort to physical violence, as the city clerk did to me. they lie to the police, as Richard F. Caraviello did to me.
Breanna Lungo-Koehn is popular, Mrs. Burke is politically connected with a stash of cash with her city lawyer shredding the First Amendment though his oath of office tells him that he should do otherwise. There's no public access in Medford, and NO CANDIDATE should have a CORI check if they want to have their own TV series, not in the United States of America. But these un-American politicians want their son to be a firefighter, want their daughters teaching in a school named after their grandfather, nepotism is at the root of the Medford tree rotting until it finally collapses.
The citizens want a new mayor. The last two candidates are terrific human beings, but they didn't fight hard enough, and those around them advised them to fight harder.
You are in a serious game with serious consequences. In 2015 after they allegedly stole the election, who was the real target that they filed false charges on? And most people ran instead of doing the right thing and standing up for the stand-up guy.
If you really want to live in Medford you'd damn well better fight for Medford, because Burke and her highly dysfunctional family are going to fight you tooth and nail to get what they want. But like an unqualified ballplayer taking away a minority kid's earned right to be on the all-star game (alleged to be the mayor's own son! doing that to a West Medford athlete) these unfair individuals, from Rumley to Ed Finn to McGlynn and Mrs. Burke and all their sycophants who enable them, that's what they have in mind for you.
These "partners in progress" Muccini-Burke claims she has. There aren't 60,000 of these partners, I can assure you, it is a very small group of insiders who want you to be the slaves while they take advantage of your money.
Haven't you had enough of this, Medford?
I have.
Is that the kind of city government that you want? It behaves more like the mob and is definitely corrupt.

"Are you Joe Viglione?"
I said "Yes, I'm famous."
The person said "You are." And that they read me all the time.
To Mark Rumley's chagrin, I have a massive audience.
And the more rocks the solicitor throws at me, the larger my audience gets.
It is your audience. It is my volunteer work to clean up the city of Medford.
