Dear Madame Mayor/School Committee Chair:

The previous administration kept parents, students and the public in the dark.

I appreciate your work ethic, Breanna.

Today we have a Determination from the Sec of State's office regarding my public records request: "the school is ordered to provide a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations without delay."

Going forward, Madame Mayor, we need to also ensure the school is consistent with your declaration of transparency.

Two very important points:

1)Numerous readers are writing on my page about the neglect in the school system - rooms allegedly without heat being one allegation.

Council President Falco's son with an online petition about alleged sanitation issues appeared at the school committee on or about 1/6/2020, as you know.  I'm wondering why the president of the city council hasn't made this more of an issue? Maybe he has....and - somehow - I have missed it?   Interesting for a ninth grader to have prepared notes.

Perhaps dad Falco should do the heavy lifting, but maybe John Falco is too afraid to handle such a hot topic himself?   Mr Falco's absence was conspicuous in failing to complain about inappropriate actions by two government officials at the school - 10-15-17 -actions which I caught on camera.   Furthermore, with it being such a hot issue it would have been appropriate for John Falco, the father, to accompany
a ninth grader and explain to the school committee that this was the council president's son and where his father stood on the issue

Now that would be full disclosure AND transparency.

With a new mayor we expect transparency and appropriate actions.  Prompt actions.  Necessary actions.

2)The school failed to abide by an original determination around December 2019. Here it is 1/23/2020 and a second determination in my favor for cooperation ...and this time...IMMEDIATEDLY as in "without delay."

So let's reiterate - Point 1 - people are outraged by sanitary and heating issues allegedly going on in the school system

Point 2: Superintendent Edouard-Vincent's staff ignoring my request for so long...let's continue with Point 2 - where is the transparency and where are the documents from this new superintendent's office?

....and also see 1st attachment from the Sec of State's office.

2nd attachment is an ice cream cup I found during a meeting when Roy Belson was superintendent.

Dear Ms. Lazzaro,

The Public Records Division indicated that there should be cooperation if I read the determination correctly.

I realize the superintendent may not want this information to come to light, if my sources are correct,
however this is about public safety that's been sadly lacking in Medford at the police station, at city hall (Muccini-Burke administration)
and in the school system.

I will be submitting a public records request about an alleged incident at the Andrews School concerning Superintendent Marice Edouard-Vincent and an alleged decision which, if true, needs to be brought to the attention of the mayor-elect, who is in the CC of this correspondence.

Mr. Rumley, in the CC, requests inappropriate CORI checks on P/E/G access producers - the allegations that I have heard, if true, which show clear double standards and discrimination on the part of Rumley and City Hall.

This is of great public interest, yet you are dragging your feet.

That is not in the spirit of cooperation or adhering to the Freedom of Information Act and the essence of why it exists

Dear Mr. Viglione,

In accordance with MGL Ch 4 section 7 clause 27 (c) personnel records are not shareable under public records law. We also are unable to identify who the employee is, as the description does not match any employee at Medford Public Schools.

Best,
Emily Lazzaro

As this writer has worked hard to obtain The L'Italien Report, the documents on Medford Community Cablevision, Inc.,
and now the high school, one has to wonder why so many public documents are shielded from the public under the
past two administrations?

These are critical issues regarding students.

I am submitting this information to the new mayor/chair of the school committee in hopes that we are building a new era,
a better time for the citizens of Medford.

It would be refreshing to have help from city government in my efforts to improve these detestable situations - the TV station,
the school, the police department.  These are massive issues.

Respectfully,

Joe Viglione
