Patrick Gordon's Failure to Perform
Keeper of the Records
Mayor of Medford
85 George P. Hassett Drive
Medford, MA 02155
RE: Patrick Gordon's Contract, Job Description, CORI check waiver, etc.
Dear Keeper of the records
This
is a request for public records pursuant to G.L. c. 66 § 10. Please
supply copies or make available for inspection public records containing
the following information:
1)The
employment contract of Patrick Gordon. If you feel this is a personnel
issue, which I disagree with, you can send the exact contract without
his name on it.
2)The document containing the job description for station manager
3)The
document containing a request for a CORI check from residents. (With a
new mayor, this absurd document that ex solicitor Rumley told me that he
devised should be removed.)
And to clarify, I
have a Background Check Clearance Certificate from the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts. My goal is to see that candidates running for office are
not spied upon. Also, another concern is the individual who was
conducting CORI checks for the high school - perhaps - allegedly should
not have been viewing private information. If correct, it would show
poor judgment on the part of the former city solicitor...again.
4)Any
documents detailing Mr. Gordon's work - documents with postings of the
number of classes for residents at the TV station, frequency of Twitter
postings, frequency of Facebook postings, what exactly Mr. Gordon does
for the salary he receives. (I've been documenting the lack of activity
on Twitter, Facebook etc. which shows a distinct lack of outreach and a
failure to facilitate programming. Furthermore, the poor, very weak
activity displayed on the video page (which is very difficult to find)
shows a lack of effort on the part of the station manager to promote the
activities of the public, the government and the high school. https://medford.vod.castus.tv/vod/?video=8367a5f6-65ad-44bd-95ad-346229c0e1c5 Why
is it that my Facebook live pages get hundreds of views and the first
three rows of videos have extremely low spins for videos in a city of
60,000 or so people. This lack of effort is in line with the previous
managers who were both inefficient (lazy,) paid too much money, and gave
NOTHING to this community. The only video with extensive views is the
pre-election debate.
5)The document containing the annual salary of Mr. Patrick Gordon
I
recognize that you may charge reasonable costs for copies, as well as
for personnel time needed to comply with this request, however as a
member of the press (51 years now!) with the Medford blog/newsletter
well over 1.5 million page views, this is a matter of GREAT public
interest. Thus, I request that you waive all fees regarding this
important request.
The Public Records Law
requires you to provide me with a written response within 10 business
days. If you cannot comply with my request, you are statutorily required
to provide an explanation in writing. Please send correspondences via e
mail to
xxxxxxx
Sincerely and respectfully,
Joe Viglione
