Who do you trust? Police Sgt. Indicted by Grand Jury

Look at the bright side! At least soon-to-be former Sgt. Ed Pomponio wasn't indicted for a false bomb threat.

ASHLAND —

A Middlesex County grand jury Friday indicted a local police sergeant on counts of obstructing justice and destroying evidence after he allegedly destroyed drugs in an open 2011 case, then tried to intimidate a fellow officer who reported it.
District Attorney Marian Ryan’s office Friday just before 5 p.m. announced the indictment against Edward Pomponio, 50, on one count of wanton destruction of evidence and two of obstruction of justice.
