Camuso needs to step down from the Medford City Council; let Mark Crowley take his place...

Dear City Council:

RE: PUBLIC SERVANT PAUL A. CAMUSO

Republican Candidate for Senate Robert Cappucci has given me permission to utilize his name tonight at the Committee of the Whole where Mr. Camuso is discussing the complaint I filed on him as "Council President."

Here's Mr. Cappucci's post on the Medford Patch:

Joe, I wish I could attend tonight. I will be out collecting signatures for my race and other candidates later this afternoon and then I have a meeting to attend in Winchester at 7 p.m. If you attend and wish to use my name for an example, you have my full support and thanks for your hard work in being such a dedicated proponent for common sense initiatives at the public forum.

Mr. Camuso is paid 30K a year to SERVE THE PUBLIC, not his Lord and Master, McGlynn, nor himself.  Public service means just that, and the obscene amount of money Mr. Camuso rakes in because he's great at campaigning (and not so great at legislating) is a slap in the face to Medford residents.

Last night at Market Basket in Woburn a man (that I had never met before) shook my hand and thanked me for my hard work at the Council; as Rob Cappucci does in his post on Patch.

Mr. Camuso doesn't get it.  Acting like a "scarecrow" to keep the people that pay him away from the PEOPLE'S FORUM is as dishonest as a young lad who might call Eddy's Pizza to deliver dozens of pizza's to the wrong place...until the police finally nab the perpetrator.

Given what we now know about Camuso's Uncle Bob Maiocco and the Wells Fargo fiasco, would the council still have voted for Financial Adviser Maiocco (402K payment to a client after a 1.8 million dollar complaint was filed on the former council president) and why do we not know enough about Mr. Camuso's background if he's going to play with so much of our money?

Mr. Camuso's egregious and harassing tactics include, but are not limited to:

a)Allegedly having a police detail at the City Council because a public records request was made to Sheriff Peter Koutoujian's office asking if Mr. Camuso has a criminal record

b)Cutting speakers off before their time is elapsed. Using the ten minutes per topic as if the speaker has ten minutes total at the council

c)badgering a senior citizen - from the chair - when the rules were under suspension

d)inability to find the right microphone when someone is speaking

e)Getting flustered and angry if Mr. Camuso has to protect friends (for example, his pals at TV3, one indicted recently for a false bomb threat)

Mr. Camuso's idea is to control the conversation. The failure of one local online 'zine, where Camuso advertizes,  to publish the meeting before my comment (which is something you have to "click" on to) is - again - Camuso controlling the conversation

"Allison, there is a 5:30 PM meeting on a complaint filed against the City Council president regarding the Open Meeting Law."

By exposing Robert Maiocco we finally got a fresh face on the council, Adam Knight.

Mr. Camuso is not ready for prime time; he may never be professional enough to run the City Council.  Just because Camuso wants to be Council president is no reason for him to bully his way up to that position and then belittle the people paying him. Hey, I want to be a rocket scientist, but that ain't ever gonna happen.

It's time Paul "Forrest Gump" Camuso had the integrity to STEP DOWN and let a professional like Rick Caraviello, equally aligned with the Mayor as Knight, Dello Russo and Camuso are, to ascend to the presidency.

Paul A. Camuso's regrettable actions behind City Hall, to the side of City Hall have not changed now that he thinks he has seized power.

The meaner Mr. Camuso gets, the more clever he becomes.  But he is not a compassionate councilor, nor does he - in my opinion - follow the open meeting laws or, possibly, the city council's own rules.

I am happy to withdraw my complaint on Adam Knight from tonight's discussion as - after evaluation and speaking with Mr. Knight - it appears that the full blame should fall on the shoulders of Paul A. Camuso.

We've seen Mr. Camuso's temperament on camera year after year after year and it's not a pretty sight. Some pretty ugly stuff has gone down on Camuso's watch - when he shows up, that is.

The Open Meeting Law and the People's Forum are something we voters take seriously.  Paul Camuso knows how to campaign. He does not know how to legislate or how to govern.  Let's end this nonsense now before Mr. Camuso really melts down in public and disgraces himself again.

Sincerely,
petitioner
