City Council demands financial records from TV3

McGlynn has one week to respond to the City Council motions or a public records request will be filed.

The City Council will be asking for:

Meeting Minutes allegedly taken by Medford Community Cablevision, Inc.

All Financial records of Medford Community Cablevision, Inc.

Payments made by Medford Community Cablevision, Inc. from 2009-2013

What's key here is that citizens speaking out at the City Council of Medford are being heard.  Real concerns about real money now being addressed in a specific and very legal way.

Mayor McGlynn, the Issuing Authority, can comply with the council's request or a formal, legal demand will be made and the Mayor will have ten days to reply.

But the reply under a Freedom of Information Act request means that government oversight in Boston will breathe down the Mayor's neck if he is reticent to be open, transparent and honest with citizens and cable TV subscribers as the Mayor claims he is.

We are serious about this issue.

Thanks to the citizen who came forward and spoke about the issue. Sometimes - when your fingerprints are all over an issue - it is nice to sit back and let other people take the ball and run with it.

The young lady from the audience was the good cop.  There's someone waiting in the wings who has a bit of a different opinion.  That means, yes, the citizens should take the next legal step if the monies that were not legitimately spent are not turned over.

Watch as things progress in the coming weeks.
