____________________________________________________"The people have spoken" is probably the mantra Paul A. Camuso will use when asked why he should be council president. Problem for Mr. Camuso is more than twofold, but we'll discuss the top two because that's all you need to know.
1)No one in the city had a chance to put "President" or "Vice President' next to their selection for councilors.
2)4,563 votes out of 57,000 or so people in Medford, over thirty thousand voters, and Mr. Camuso acts as if he has a mandate.

Camuso got 399 votes more than Breanna Lungo-Koehn. So, this is a mandate? Why not have a professional like Lungo-Koehn as president of the council again - especially since Bob Maiocco hijacked and monopolized the position for so many years?
Mr. Camuso has no answer for that, but - after missing THREE Council meetings this year, at an estimated cost of $3700.00 per week, Camuso-on-the-learning-curve, not fully aware of the Open Meeting Law and - out of pure arrogance, thinks that he should be the council president. Maybe if he showed up and stayed instead of skipping out as he did on February 25, 2014 or as he did during the Lawrence Memorial Hospital discussion, maybe if Camuso showed up and stayed and displayed some integrity, maybe ...and it's a questionable maybe ...maybe he could grab that $3,000.00 extra per year. Basically, what we're getting for our money is the color bars TV 3 offered while accepting our monies but not doing a damn thing for the hard-earned cash. Hard-earned on our part, not theirs.

TENDER LOVING CARE vs. POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE
The Tom Lincoln Crew are intimidating for any elected official. They have a faction we affectionately call "the granola crunchers" - and any block of votes can tip an election. Remember, only 399 votes separated Breanna from Paul.
One of the most humorous moments of 2013 was when then Council President Robert A. Maiocco told his nephew, Paul Camuso, as Camuso was on the lam from the other side of the rail, that it was time to vote. "Not on the other side of the rail" Camuso yelled out (paraphrased) as he walked away from his obligation to the voters. You see, Mr. Camuso did not have the courage to cast a vote for or against Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

If councilors own a cemetery plot at Oak Grove, are they in "conflict" voting for the Brooks Estate?
Over three million dollars is asked for of the city, and it needs 5 votes. If Mr. Camuso is too conflicted ...and knew in advance that he was allegedly in "conflict" pursuant to the rules of the State Ethics Commission, he should never have accepted the "presidency."

This is a report card. Paul Camuso will call it a personal attack, it is not. It is an intellectual discussion of the individual that the weekly paper said had the worst attendance record at the city council.
This is the individual whose posture (or lack thereof) ...whose body language indicates he thinks he should be Mayor of Medford.
Really?
Sure. Cutting ribbons and letting the infrastructure fall apart. That's what Camuso offers the city of Medford.
Paul Camuso was on the WRONG side of the TV issue, and the fact that he would appear on a board member's program to promote himself on Friday nights, in violation of the Internal Revenue Code prohibiting a non-profit from engaging in political speech, and Camuso stood by while that same host took monies from councilors to publish advertisements that the host/board member created (another huge no no for a board member OR for a webmaster at the 501c3) and Camuso stood by while fellow councilors were allegedly illegally bashed by the staffers and board members.
So these qualities, these selfish qualities, are what you, dear voters, are presented with when absentee councilor Paul A. Camuso makes his argument behind closed doors as to why he wants THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS to be "Council President." President in Name Only.

State Rep Carl Sciortino has taken a stand against Gay Conversion Therapy. Sheesh. How about fixing the potholes and bringing businesses in to Medford to fill those empty storefronts, Carl? Or maybe stand up for the gay bashing that happened at TV3?
Carl runs faster than Paul Camuso when it comes to taking a stand.
Some news for Mr. Sciortino, which he already knows. Before a handsome pal of mine found his handsome husband he phoned me up and said "Joe, best place to find a date. Those Gay Conversion Therapy groups!" My friend said that after the group sessions all the guys would hang out, and most ended up dating each other.
So in an era when homosexual bars are closing down right and left due to the new rules, insurance regulations and upgrades for ALL nightclubs after the Station fire tragedy in Rhode Island; when bars are closing due to stronger drunk driving laws, not to mention the economy, Mr. Sciortino wants to take away the last place where gay men can go to meet other gay men! Shame on you, Carl!

CARL SCIORTINO'S TO DO LIST
1)Write hate mail to zoos where they try to change the spots on a leopard
2)Write a proposed bill to have barriers set up 2 miles from abortion clinics
3)File a complaint against the man in the moon.
Between Mr. Sciortino's flagrantly innocuous positions on things that don't matter to our community to Paul Camuso's cowardly running from behind the rail so that he doesn't have to vote, I have found a solution which can benefit Medford.
