Their news-gathering process, as documented by Gawker in 2012, is highly unorthodox, and wouldn’t pass muster at any newspaper (or even here!), but it does involve traditional reporting and fact-checking—even when it’s done only to cover their ass legally.

Maiocco, why Uncle Gene was removed by Deval Patrick, vetting the transition team...the lack of transparency in Medford says that not only what we know from these "rumors and allegations" could very well be true, their anxiety levels are so high that it appears there are things they are hiding that they do not want us to stumble upon.

It's the only logical reason for why they would be so obsessed with a blog...isn't it?
