Medford’s executive and legislative branches have begun discussing each other’s legislative priorities for the year, with some overlapping interest in zoning review and public works investment.
Mayor Stephanie M. Burke met with city councilors to comb through their goals, and to share updates on imminent zoning changes and capital priorities, at the Council’s Committee of the Whole meeting Monday, Feb. 25.
Councilors set their priorities at a meeting last month, with longstanding goals such as public works improvement, zoning reform, and repairs to decrepit fire precincts topping the body’s list. Since then, Council President Adam Falco has met with Burke and her office.
Zoning changes and prospects for reform
On zoning, Burke says her administration hopes to send a new zoning plan for Mystic Avenue to City Council at some point in the coming weeks. Burke is also looking to send an ordinance addressing marijuana dispensary zoning, another Council priority, in the next few weeks.
