Kim Scanlon or Keeper of the Records
Medford City Hall,
85 George P. Hassett Drive
Medford MA 02155

Dear Atty Scanlon/Keeper of the Records
This is a request under the Massachusetts Public Records Law (M. G. L. Chapter 66, Section 10). I am requesting that I be provided a copy of the following records:
The document or online site regarding the rules for a candidate wanting to run for two or three offices at the same time.
To be clear: Andy Castagnetti pulled papers for mayor and city council. Purportedly he was told by an official at city hall that he could only run for one office and chose to run for city council.  I am looking for the document or documents that explain the rule as to why Mr. Castagnetti or any qualified person can or cannot run for mayor, city council and/or school committee simultaneously.
I recognize that you may charge reasonable costs for copies, as well as for personnel time needed to comply with this request. As a member of the press with an online site that reached over one million four hundred thousand views as of this morning, I respectfully request that you waive any such fee(s) as this is a matter of great public interest.
The Public Records Law requires you to provide me with a written response within 10 business days. If you cannot comply with my request, you are statutorily required to provide an explanation in writing.
Sincerely,

Joe Viglione
