Re: Massachusetts Public Records Request
Dear Keeper of the Records:
Dear Keeper of the Records:
This is a request under the Massachusetts Public Records Law (M. G. L. Chapter 66, Section 10).
I am requesting that I be provided a copy of the following records:
1)Documents that contain the salary of Mayor Stephanie Muccini-Burke This should be public information and should be on the city website at no fee.
2)Documents that contain the salary of the City Solicitor, Mark E. Rumley, Medford Police Detective Paul Mackowski, Medford Police Officer Paul Covino and the Chief of Police Leo A. Sacco, Jr. This information should be made public on the city website at no fee.
3)Documents containing the costs in in terms of money and time spent by the Medford Police Department and Medford City Hall regarding the frivolous and outrageous lawsuit dismissed by the court on January 31, 2017 where the police and the City Council President filed false charges on a resident, Joseph Viglione.
The police claim they initiated the investigation on December 8, 2015, which was five days after a public records request was filed by Mr. Viglione asking for documents regarding a varsity coach, a former teacher at Medford High School, Xxx Xxxxxxxxx, no longer employed at the high school as of June 30, 2015; that public records request filed with the Chief of Police and the School Superintendent, a few days after a response to a complaint regarding the vulgar verbal assault on Mr. Viglione by Brian S. Burke, assistant clerk of Middlesex Superior Court, was delivered to Viglione via Matthew Day of Michael Sullivan's office per request of Judge Judith Fabricant.
4)The document (s) that contain the specific costs of lighting city hall and the trees in front of city hall after January 6, 2017 and up to when the lights are no longer utilized. As of 2/5/17, the date of this request, the trees in front of city hall (not the lights on city hall itself) are still lit. This information should be made available to the public on the city website and should come at no fee.
I recognize that you may charge reasonable costs for copies, as well as for personnel time needed to comply with this request. If you expect costs to exceed $10.00, please provide a detailed fee estimate. The documents noted above that should be on the city website should NOT result in a fee.
The Public Records Law requires you to provide me with a written response within 10 (or possibly 25) calendar days. If you cannot comply with my request, you are statutorily required to provide an explanation in writing.
Sincerely,
Joe Viglione
