Former mayor of Buena Park gets jail time for perjury, falsifying documents - What about allegedly hiding a sex crime?
“There was a substantial amount of evidence that shows that the defendant was deceiving several government agencies with false information regarding his name, false information regarding his date of birth and actually submitting a false Social Security number,” Senior Deputy District Attorney John Christl, who prosecuted the case, said after the verdicts.
Authorities speculated that Oh was attempting to avoid making child-support payments to his ex-wife by hiding assets under a false name.
Christl argued for a sentence of three years in prison, noting that Oh lied on government forms and even on his résumé for City Council. Christl said Oh claimed he studied economics at UCLA for three years, but the university has no record of him.
