When Strephanie Muccini-Burke was on the city council she said about Medford Community Cablevision, Inc.
"They have broken the spirit of access."
On February 8, 2017 at the State of the City address Burke blurted out that the Vocational School would get the most use of access TV funding while the public would be allowed up at the school "at night."
So where does the approximately ONE MILLION DOLLARS go now that this writer has shut down the "private access station" - MCC TV3 ?
Exhibit A from two years ago, May 7, 2015, has about Two Hundred Thousand of the monies going to three teachers - Lexington's Jack Dempsey, Lisa Dunphy and Allison Goldsberry. (see below.) But isn't this 200k supposed to be designated for the Government channel?

MCC TV3 - Public Access TV - allegedly got 55k per quarter, $220.00k, so let's say for sake of argument that the Government channel and the High School Educational channel should all get the same amount - that would be $660k.
The other 340K - IF the monies from Verizon and Comcast total 1 million a year (and I believe they are more, at this point, which is why I'm filing a new public records request,) are thrown into the big black hole money pit called "the General fund."

Meanwhile, duplicitous Mark E. Rumley whose forked tongue speaks out of three sides of his unreliable mouth. promised us free speech, promised he would go after the missing TV3 monies, if we bring Dionne Warwick to the Chevalier she can sing "Promises, Promises" to the City Solicitor because quite Frankly, pun intended, I'm disgusted with Rumley's cheating and lying to cable TV subscribers ripped off by city hall year after year after year. Robert Duvall's Attorney Tom Hagen in the Godfather series was more reliable and honest.
So how proud of you, Medford, with a two-faced solicitor spitting on your First Amendment rights, derelict in his duties, and threatening to sue you if you exercise your right granted by the First Amendment to our Constitution.

The pernicious censorship tactics of the Muccini-Burke Administration are not something Muccini-Burke envisioned when she was on my/our side on the access TV issue. Now that she's seized the levers of power she wants less transparency than McGlynn offered, and McGlynn offered NOTHING.
Months and months ago I offered to build a station in a van that would be stored at the Chevalier Theater as well as the Medford Public Library. We could already be transmitting on the cable space.
But Muccini-Burke is not interested in qualified people. She wants hacks she approves of, people like Jack Dempsey handling their bad audio and inadequate video and forcing the cable subscribers to have a product with low standards for the huge sums of money paid into this excuse that Medford gives for "access." Thus far we have seen that Burke will use the channels, but no one else.
It is time for a Class Action suit or other litigation to set Mrs. Burke straight.
