FIRST, you'll see Will Wheaton from Star Trek the Next Generation, formerly Wesley Crusher.
He's Forest Ranger Gary Barton as they are looking for handsome Dr Jesse Travis played bt Charlie Schlatter, who still looks great two and a half decades later.

Will Wheaton as the forest ranger, Gary Barton

Will Whaton talks to Dick Van Dyke's son, Barry Van Dyke as Lt. Steve Sloane of the LAPD.

When they find Dr. Travis after 5 days in Utah, he goes to an Encounter Group that is led

by Gene Rodenberry's wife, #1 in The Cage, the very first Star Trek pilot.  Majel Barrett leads the group with the great Grace Lee Whitney as an Encounter Group Abductee.  Whitney passed May 1, 2015 at the age of 85.  She was one of the many actors who got cheated and not renewed for more Star Trek episodes. Oh, what could have been had they more financial backing, and had they kept the show going for 7 years or more instead of 3.  TV was run so poorly back in the day, not that today is any better.

She was Yeoman Janice Rand in 8 episodes of Star Trek in 1966 (hope she did enough conventions to make some decent money,) as well as the Star Trek films 1, 3, 4, 6 as well as 1 episode of Star Trek Voyager in 1996 and this Diagnosis Murder "Star Trek spinoff) in 1998.  Keep in mind, Diagnosis Murder was actually a spin off of Matlock which was a spinoff of Perry Mason (the movies) ....all from the same company with a lot of characters (John DeLancie "Q" in Matlock) showing up, just like 1966 when Star Trek had many Perry Mason actors (William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Bones, and people from The Cage)

Her last roles were in a TV Star Trek Phase 2 (2007) and a fan-made motion picture, also 2007, Of Gods and Men.

George Takei (Sulu) has a central role in this as some kind of bizarre "FBI" kinda guy,

he and Walter Koenig were both next to each other on the Starship Enterprise main deck, so it is

interesting they get to participate in the bigger roles here.

Dr Travis on the side of the road in Utah; Walter Koenig "Chekov" in the hospital telling

Dr. Travis about the "Encounter" group

Koenig then shows up at Dr. Travis' apartment after appearing at the hospital (above)  character name here being Quinn Trask while George Takei is #1 Man in Black, alluding to the alien movie of the same name (sorta, Men in Black.)

Majel Barrett
