This is a guess on my part.

NO SOURCES came up with this one.  And the sources are keeping things close to the vest right now, information NOT given to me on the telephone.  

This is merely speculation, so keep that in mind.

Speculation on my part based on how things happen in Medford - and given the level of "buzz" around the notion that Sacco's "retirement" is going to be announced sooner than later.

What if Alan Doherty is Brutus?   The way Jay Leno's manager secretly gave the heave-ho to Johnny Carson to get her boy in.

Sources tell me that Doherty is behind Sacco and is instrumental in keeping the outraged villagers (the agitated police force feeling overworked and under appreciated) from storming the castle.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Alan is Brutus?  If Alan has someone in mind to be the new police chief???

I have absolutely no information on that. None whatsoever.  Just speculating.   

But it would be pretty impressive, yes?
