Salem Police Chief Mary Butler can't compete with sex in a broom closet!!!
SALEM, MA — A Salem police officer and husband of Salem Police Chief Mary Butler was arraigned Wednesday on accusations of raping a man while the man was held in protective custody.
Judge Robert Brennan ordered Brian Butler, 56, of Salem held on $10,000 bail on charges of rape and indecent assault in Salem District Court, according to Essex County District Attorney spokeswoman Carrie Kimball-Monahan. Butler is accused of touching a male victim's genitals while the victim was making a phone call and performing oral sex on the victim in a broom closet at the police station on Halloween.
In a statement released Wednesday, Mayor Kimberly Driscoll indicated the city's plans to "commence termination proceedings, pursuant to civil service statutes."

Chelsea clerk pleads guilty in sex case
James Burke, the former Chelsea District Court clerk, pleaded guilty on Monday to violating the civil rights of two women by using his official position to obtain sexual services from them, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.Burke, 42, of Chelsea, pleaded guilty to two counts of deprivation of civil rights under color of law in U.S. District Court in Boston.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Burke used his official position to obtain sexual services from two women facing prostitution charges in Chelsea District Court, telling one woman he could help her with her case and threatening to lock up the other woman. The sexual contact occurred in the courthouse, the government said.
Burke is scheduled to be sentenced on April 13 and faces up to 11 years in prison and $350,000 in fines.
