Springfield's public access TV looking for a home
Animal-shelter pets, staff from local not-for-profits and a group of public high school students doing sketch comedy all were once stars on Springfield's public access television.
Sixty-five programs, many religious in nature, air weekly on Access 4. But the variety and volume of programs on the city-run channel has dropped off since Comcast closed its studio in 2009, says city communications director Julia Frevert.

"Our goal to train people to tell their story and create programming to promote Springfield," Frevert said.
