COUNCIL MEETING CANCELED, TRANSPORTATION SUB COMMITTEE POSTPONED

COUNCIL CANCELED, TRANSPORTATION SUBCOMMITTEE, CANCELED - I USE ONE 'L' - ADAM USES TWO - BOTH CORRECT

In the interests of public safety with the coming snow storm, tonight’s City Council meeting is cancelled. All items on this week’s agenda will carry over to the next scheduled meeting on February 19.

Tonight’s City Council Transportation Subcommittee meeting is also postponed in the interests of public safety because of the storm. I will send a new Subcommittee meeting notice when that meeting is rescheduled. Thanks, Adam

What is the difference between cancelled and canceled?
Canceled or cancelled is the past tense of the verb to cancel. Both spellings are correct; Americans favor canceled (one L), while cancelled (two Ls) is preferred in British English and other dialects. However, there is only one correct spelling of the word cancellation, no matter where you are.
