This producer has contributed to access television in a positive way, in some cases doing more outreach than many stations do.
Think about it: My show, Visual Radio, introduces people to access TV, doing the job that non-profits are supposed to do: alerting the public to their right to access TV.
The reason stations like Winchester, Medford and other entities fail to do outreach is because board members become comfy, love what they perceive as a position of power, and in some cases, get sick enjoyment out of bullying.
There are some great people in access TV, and some stations that run the operations like a business. There are some very bad ones.
Somerville Media Center has conflicted personalities, a Joe Lynch - newsman - also on the board of directors. A woman that some people call "a flake," Fallon O'Brien, who is clueless, not-ready-for-prime-time and on the board of directors. Guillermo Samuel Hamlin is a staffer in Malden who should NOT be on the Somerville TV Board of Directors because he is too conflicted, not objective about the problems caused by staffer Erica Jones or board member O'Brien, because he likes them. Well isn't that quaint.
Joe Viglione was elected to the quasi board of Boston Free Radio, until Joe Viglione and Heather Mack put forth a motion to shut down the quasi board and have an Advisory Panel.
The advisory panel works much better (and I would Facebook live the meetings) --- but doing things the right way comes at a great cost.
Some in positions of power get angry that someone wants to create LOGICAL RULES and play by those rules.
In Somerville I was accused of filing too many complaints.
There are never TOO MANY complaints when Arthur Alan Deluca or Ron DeLucia types are doing the wrong thing. That's called CIRCLING THE WAGONS.
So now Joe Lynch, Fallon O'Brien, Erica Jones, Heather Mack, Brian Zipp all want to protect their little turf (in the cases of Zipp, Mack and Jones, it is their paychecks, so they do the WRONG thing to satisfy some clueless members of the board of directors.)
Look, I like Danny Burke. He's a nice kid.
Should he be on the board of directors? Hell, No! Not qualified. Danny is on the board of directors the way Frank Pilleri wanted Art Deluca on the board of directors, because he could be pushed around.
So how does that help the station? It doesn't. It helps a fraudulent board of directors unable to protect the little kids who come into the station while some board member allegedly has open alcohol in the space.
Oh, and after they informed me that I file too many complaints - which is not noted in the By-laws or Policies and Procedures, they just made up a new rule on the spot, Mr. Lynch, they sent a memo out: NO ALCOHOL AT THE STATION, embracing the complaint.
They want it both ways.
I complain about clueless Fallon "the flake" O'Brien and alleged repeated open containers of beer in the editing suite; they fail to sanction a board member (there was no Somerville Media rule against having alcohol, but with children in the studio they should know better!) and they get mad at me for filing a legitimate complaint on a board member who, of course, can hold a paycheck over the head of a staffer if she gets enough votes on her side, ostensibly, allegedly.
Staffers are frightened of board members at many stations. For good reason, look how Steve Gay was unceremoniously dumped at WinCAM. I was a supporter of Mr. Gay, but felt both sides - the board and Mr. Gay - acted in an inappropriate fashion when it all hit the fan.
Thankfully, I was Switzerland in that instance, THANK GOD. It was about Attorney Wing bullying the staff, with membership angry at Wing, who holds on to power because she puts herself above the community. Sick, isn't it?
BACK TO SOMERVILLE
But to have a board member making sexually provocative comments about the ass of the Somerville Mayor when little kids are always in the studio, that's not free speech. That's sexual harassment 101.
Erica Jones allegedly made the creep Member of the Month for May 2018. Hey, him and Harvey Weinstein and Steve Wynn, right?
Add Bill Cosby to that honor roll, Erica, but remember, giving an award to your boss who sexually harassed another gay male, if it were you, Erica, who did the dirty deed, sets the women's movement back dozens of years.

Heather certainly doesn't play the woman card. I wouldn't want to wrestle with her in a wrestling ring, she'd win hands down. Heck, I'm 64, if she hits me it's a felony, if I wrestle her down it's only a misdemeanor!!! All joking aside, I like Heather...or past tense, liked her, until I saw her protecting her paycheck over member rights.
And Heather shouldn't want to wrestle with me in a court of law, where I have a glowing track record of winning.

When Winchester and Medford and Somerville create "turf" - untalented individuals like David Gauthier in Winchester who are shucking infiltrate and ruin access TV.
Gauthier is a disgusting individual who would rather play softball with cluess Anthony Gaimari and Joe LaRocca than do any real work.
Gaimara was LaRocca's roommate and knew absolutely nothing about access TV. He is an overweight blob, a thick-headed neanderthal who would tell members to "go to Google" to get the answers. David Gauthier YELLED at me spilling PRIVATE INFORMATION relayed in his office that Gaimara was "not ready for prime time."
Gauthier, breaking confidence of member (and former independent contractor paid to do promo for Winchester, getting them in the Boston Globe) yelled TELL ANTHONY WHAT YOU SAID TO ME ABOUT HIM (what a violation of trust!)
JV: "I have no problem telling anyone anything that I have said " (and if you read this blog regularly you sure as heaven know that is true!)

David Gauthier SHUCKS his way through access television ...and I gave the clown my vote as I knew him in Salem and thought he did a good job there. Well, he did. But he wasn't station manager at SATV, and - sadly - in Winchester he proved that he doesn't know a damn thing about ethics, the law, sexual harassment or running a television station.
So Mass Access has him on the board.

Ayden was on the original WinCAM board. What? No term limits?

There's a Medford resident involved in city government that got their check returned to them with no explanation when Winchester shut the doors on Woburn residents, Medford residents etc. to retain control.
Somerville has loud-mouth Erica Jones not doing work, losing the password to a Twitter account (She's the alleged "social media director," but acts like a social butterfly, loud mouth, obnoxious behavior while people are editing or doing TV shows. I got the wench to shut the bleep up finally after lodging complaints on her failure to do her job and her penchant for socializing on the clock.)
Board member Guillermo, a staffer at Malden TV, asked me who the culprits were, when I said staffer Erica Jones and alleged beer-drinking-in-studio board member Fallon "the flake" (that's what they call her, not me!) O'Brien, well, Guillermo said they were two of his favorite people.
Wrong answer. I saw open alcohol in the studio and there are little children running around, the parents paying BIG BUCKS to put the kids there, which finances, in part, the radio station.
The radio station does terrific outreach, Stephanie Burke, which is why Medford would have both a radio and TV station under my work ethic, however that's not what Medford City Government wants...is it, Mr. Rumley?
Thus, I have been dubbed by an attorney THE AVENGING ANGEL OF ACCESS TV, and when the public has to read lies from elder abuser Arthur Alan Deluca that MCC TV3 did no wrong, just take the quote from convicted child rapist, deceased WBCN /WRKO DJ on-air personality MP to "consider the source."
Who would know better than Park?
Look, Access TV has big problems on the horizon with Verizon (rhyme unintentional,) Comblast and RCN all wanting to go to one source: Beacon Hill, and not to every city and town for the contract / license renewals.
And that would be the end of access as we know it. The general funds would no longer bulge from franchise fees that Medford, the city, has raped and brutalized since the inception of private access TV in Medfraud.
