Essay - Joe Viglione
David McKillop has the skills to be mayor, and after two years of witnessing a once great city councilor hitting her head on the glass ceiling, we see that Stephanie Muccini-Burke does not.
Ms. Burke is terrible at campaigning, and so is McKillop. So "sauce for the goose" as Mr. Spock and Captain Kirk have said - the odds are even in that department.

BUT - Muccini-Burke does have Michael J. McGlynn pulling his strings (and hers...but mostly his!) in the background, and therein lies her biggest strength - as big a strength as it is a huge liability.
Mr, McKillop has such a wide path to victory that he is missing, like a fourteen year old softball player seeing a huge white object coming at him at three miles per hour, swinging and missing.
Repeatedly.
Lawsuits against Burke, fighting for the citizens, the "No More Mr. Nice Guy" approach in the dirty world of politics would show citizens that McKillop cares.
The failure to fight Muccini-Burke on a Lincoln/Douglas style debate case in point.
"Yes, Stephanie, thank you for showing up. Would you like to throw a pie at me and humiliate me in public at Tufts? Please be nice to me...."
God help us and save us, Mr. McKillop seems more like a restaurant owner looking for new patrons than a serious candidate who wants to correct the mess that 60,000 or so residents, multiple business and civic groups find themselves in.

The way McKillop is running his campaign, it looks like a satellite office of Muccini-Burke for mayor. Only a good indictment for Mrs. Burke will give McKillop the opportunity to run this city.
A snowball in hell has a better chance of surviving.
But what great public relations for his restaurant.
Please vote for Mr. McKillop, he is the better candidate, despite walking around this city on crutches because he keeps shooting himself in the foot.
Amazing he isn't giving voters a 20 % coupon to try out his restaurant...though that probably isn't allowed, look for it when he gives a concession speech praising the menace to this community, Mrs. Burke come November 3.
