MBTA financial chief to step down as agency's maintenance backlog tops $7.3B

Jonathan Davis will retire this fall as the chief financial officer of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, according to a letter to MBTA employees.

"Jon will remain with us through October, working on key financial initiatives related to an upcoming offering of MBTA bonds and securing the financing for the implementation of Positive Train Control," the letter states. The document was dated Aug. 28 and is signed by interim MBTA General Manager Frank DePaola and Chief Administrator Brian Shortsleeve.
