Miller will continue to
work on a new capital plan for the city, which she had been drafting
since Burke took over as mayor in January.
Asked if she had anticipated a move to the MWRA, Miller said: “I did not.”
Rose, meanwhile, is stepping down for family reasons.
“It’s
always going to be sad to leave,” Rose said. “I have a ton of
relationships, and there’s always one more thing you want to do.”
Rose, who spent 15 years with the city, said her decision was in no way related to working under a new mayor.
“I
certainly have always had a great relationship with Mayor Burke,” Rose
said, emphasizing her departure is independent of the city’s
administration change. “It couldn’t be farther from the truth. I feel
badly, and in my letter to her I made abundantly clear I wanted to be
part of [Burke’s future] as mayor.”
