Medford Officer Pleads Guilty To Stealing Evidence In Murder At Stoneham Residence
Miguel Lopez must retire after pleading guilty to stealing and hiding evidence from a murder that took place where he was residing.

Officials say Puopolo was not involved in the drug transaction and just happened to be at his friend's home on the night of the shooting. Loved ones say Puopolo was a veteran of the U.S. Army and spent 14 months fighting in Afghanistan.
Lopez was interviewed by Mass. State Police following the shooting. Investigators allege Lopez lied to police during the interview to cover up the drug deal that led to the shooting. They further allege that Lopez removed evidence from the home.
The 53-year-old is expected to be arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court at a later date.
