Will We Get Past the Censors at the Medford Mass Yahoogroup???? CHURCH SIGNAGE DEBATE

An example of a bad fit, the Burger King in Winchester changes the complexion of the beautiful town with the Aberjona river, the beautiful library, which is why Winchester is fighting so hard against the CVS that has wanted to come into the area about a mile down the hill from the hospital.

The other side of the argument is that there is a CVS in the square - but that fits nicely into the business district.
A gaudy Dunkin Donuts pink near the Burger King is less tacky, and maybe we are used to Dunkin' Donuts being everywhere.

Breanna and Michael Marks need to take a stand against this.

Remember the blue plastic sign on the Immaculate Conception Church?  This "advertising for God" is tacky
and God isn't going to change either way.

Respectfully I say to Christopher Bader, the City Council, indeed, "needs" to do what is best for the city.
Sadly, when looking at public records request responses, missing city hall doors, trash left outside of Alden Chambers for months with a steak knife left on it (??? - until yours truly pressured the ex-city clerk to get rid of it)
a ceiling that was leaking and streets that are only paved when election time rolls around ...

what the city council and the mayor need are 200 people showing up at Alden Chambers to keep them from voting the wrong way.

Until citizens show up and debate at the council, the council will do what is best for the council and not for the city.

Citizens need to be proactive.  A more discrete and humble sign would be that better fit.

Ellen Epstein's post

I wrote to all the councilors, and got this quick response from Breanna Lungo:

> I feel bad they spent the money before they got approval, but I cannot approve it due to the size, the fact it’s in a residential neighborhood and the precedent it will set.

The City Council needs as always to do what's best for the City, and I'm
sure in this case they will.
