Michael J. McGlynn's family was heavily involved in the MBTA. So how could fraud happen in Medford?
_______________________________
McGlynn's brother-in-law on Governors Ave was a big wig at the MBTA, his brother Jack in Beverly a lobbyist for them up until 2009 when Deval Patrick cut the cord, just as Deval replaced the Mayor's uncle Gene McGillicuddy at the Medford Housing Authority.

Shouldn't the McGlynn Administration, which claims "leadership that works," have been proactive?

How could this happen under such a great leader - as Mike McGlynn describes himself?

Or maybe McGlynn's description of himself as a "leader" that "works" is as fraudulent as those fake MBTA passes...

MEDFORD
A Medford man has pleaded guilty and been sentenced to three years in state prison in connection with a scheme to manufacture and distribute counterfeit Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) passes.Attorney General Maura Healey announced Medford resident Casey Kolenda distributed more than 3,000 counterfeit passes, making more than $60,000 in personal profit and depriving the MBTA of revenue in excess of $225,000.Kolenda, 28, pleaded guilty June 22 in Middlesex Superior Court to the charges of counterfeiting (7 counts).
Judge Thomas P. Billings:
"This scheme resulted in
significant revenue loss for the MBTA and was patently unfair to riders
who paid the full cost of their transit passes,” said Healey. “Schemes
such as this one, in which an individual commits crimes for personal
gain at the expense of the public, will not be tolerated.”
