DOE ‘whitewashed’ wrongdoing at grade-fixing high school
Under pressure by reporters, the DOE finally released a probe of Elvin’s shenanigans last June 30 — two days after Dewey held a graduation ceremony where students chanted, “Easy pass! Easy
pass!”
A DOE probe of teacher complaints found Elvin responsible for a scheme in which students lagging in all subjects were lumped together in Project Graduation classes. Kids got “packets” of work, but no instruction by certified teachers, as required by state education law.
