PEMBROKE — A Pembroke Academy parent told SAU 53 co-superintendent Patty Sherman Thursday that she violated the law she cited while discussing the drug arrest of a now-former dean of students.
During a Pembroke School Board meeting on Tuesday, Sherman and the rest of the board members declined to comment on the arrest of Rekha Luther, saying it was a personnel issue.
Luther, 36, of Manchester faces four charges of possession of a controlled drug. She was arrested Feb. 17 at the school for possession of heroin as well as two different types of steroids.
Since the news broke on April 1, school officials have fielded dozens of questions from parents wondering why they weren’t told of the arrest when it happened.
Sherman sent a statement home to parents on Monday about the arrest.
