Editor's Note: UNSENSITIVE is a word in the dictionary (using it and not the word insensitive.) We just decided to throw a $25.00 word at the eloquent city solicitor who spends more time on his thesaurus, allegedly, than on working for the city.
Dear Atty Scanlon and High School Records Officer:
I received a job posting for the access TV station manager, but I do not believe I received an actual "job description" - or the essence of what Ben Brown must do as station manager after his hiring.
Our city ran into this problem when a non-profit ran the access station and Dawn Natalia didn't have a "job description" that the city and citizens were aware of.
Thus, if you do NOT have a job description for Mr. Brown's duties, I suggest the city compose one now and get it to me.
Also, I believe I went to the right venue by contacting you, Attorney Scanlon, for the list of shows Mr. Brown is airing - importing from Westford, Arlington, Dedham and other cities and towns without requiring a CORI check when Medford residents - even mailing DVDs in - are required to give a CORI.
Now, 10/2/17, Mr. Brown tells me that he will amend the five page censorship agreement (it is hardly a producer's agreement; I know quite a bit more about this than the City Solicitor or Councilor Dello Russo who both think their imagined ideas for access TV are the reality) - Brown - after my complaints - now says he will "waive" the CORI if mailed in.
How generous of the novice. His resume is so thin that he posts that he did two months as a lighting director for a Jimmy Buffet tribute. Wow. By that standard my forty-three years working in nightclubs would make me Einstein.
I met with Mr. Ben Brown last night and he was as defensive, antagonistic and as downright rude as Solicitor Mark Rumley was last Thursday when I met with him. THIS IS NOT HELPFUL to FREE SPEECH - these people are not welcoming, they are taking advantage of our access TV funding tha I personally saved this city when I put into motion the elements that shut down Medford Community Cablevision, Inc. from its absolutely fraudulent "private MCC access" - which a retired judge noted is what they were doing.
HOW is this Rumley/Burke/Belson new restrictive access TV any better? It is worse because the city is ripping off the citizens funding the enterprise.
This, this is an appeal that I did not receive the JOB DESCRIPTION of Ben Brown or the list of shows requested.
Ben Brown told me that he works for the city. That isn't the high school. The City must have these documents if
Mr. Brown works for the city.
I should add that the city should not be operating access TV. If Everett chooses to do that, let Everett residents discuss it. Medford has been censored by a thin-skinned mayor and an equally unsensitive and boorish City Solicitor, with abusive and possibly illegal rules all designed to strip Medford residents of their civil rights, free speech and rip off the franchise fee to pay three high school salaries, throw sixty percent of the monies into the general fund, for Mr. Rumley and Mrs. Burke to cheat the residents out of what they pay for like two pirates who loot, defame and spit in the faces of those who pay their bloated salaries.
.. If a response has been provided, a requestermay appeal within ninety (90) .days
Why is access TV so difficult in this city? To the logical mind, they are hiding some pretty vulgar deeds, allegedly.
Mr. Rumley should resign in disgrace. Is it ethical to allegedly collect bills at Somerville Court as an attorney on city time on Thursdays, as two former mayoral candidates alleged they caught Rumley doing, or using a taxpayer funded e mail as a "permanent deacon" at a church (Immaculate Conception) where the solicitor is no longer "permanent" ?
These alleged ethical lapses are just pointed out to show the lack of transparency and the arrogance when simple public records requests are not properly answered.
I would like Ben Brown's job description and a list of the shows that he is airing and where they come from. It's very simple. Mr. Brown certainly hasn't posted hours of operation, as required, and God knows that I had to fix the feedback problem at the City Council meeting of 9/19/17 - Mr. Brown last night, 10/2/17, telling me that he "doesn't know" why there was no feedback from my speech and feedback for everyone else. I explained it to the alleged "audio expert" that Rumley and Burke have installed as their censorship scarecrow.
In closing, Mr. Brown didn't care that Mr. Rumley blamed Brown for the 5 page agreement. Rumley only owned up to the abusive and invasive-to-candidates unwarranted CORI check. Mr. Brown cannot even do simple audio, as is on his resume, do you think we are that stupid, Mr. Rumley, when you blame Ben Brown for all the legal mumbo jumbo in the producer's agreement. This is Dawn Natalia, failed station manager, all over again, and it is unacceptable.
Please get me that information. It is critical and time is of the essence this election cycle.
