The three popular posts on our front page generate a lot of interest from people probably not from Medford.   Another publication picked up our Brady list and got 250,000 hits.  I found that unbelievable but was showed the Facebook "shares" and there were an INCREDIBLE number of shares. So, yes, we see a spike when this news site is posted on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook etc. but I don't have enough hours in the day to do that.

TIME FOR AN ALL-VOLUNTEER CITY COUNCIL OF MEDFORD, MASS.

This is a response to a Medford resident on my Politics page on Facebook regarding the Rick Caraviello / Our Revolution post from earlier today:

JV RESPONDS ON FACEBOOK:

many good people should be on the city council.

Former mayor McGlynn was a master at manipulating the election process. A former city clerk was alleged to have played with ballots...that's all I'm going to say on that.

There is more opportunity today with a great new city clerk and a new mayor.

If anyone has noticed, Adam Knight is standing in the way of charter change and even charter review. They think these are lifetime jobs, and remember - the city council voted for their own thirty thousand dollars each pay raise of YOUR money.

It's one of the highest (CITY COUNCIL PAYCHECKS - JV) in Middlesex County (OR THE STATE, FOR THAT MATTER.)

When I remind people of that the councilors get mad at me.

Why?

Free speech and factual. Aren't the Wakefield selectmen all volunteers? Make the City Council ALL VOLUNTEER and watch the current regime leave. They just want the power and the thirty grand.

They are NOT in this for the community.

All seven city councilors are holding the city back, replace them with people passionate about Medford and watch the city improve.
