Why is city hall reticent to respond to legitimate public records requests of great and vital importance to people in Medford and around the world?
Here's the bottom line. We are not being treated fairly by the Trump administration in Washington

Fighting for your rights in Washington might feel like a lone wolf howling at the moon, and perhaps that example is a perfect one, which makes the ears of government officials locally all the more pivotal for residents to make their home town/city a better place to live.
You may not believe this next statement, and you don't have to, but I like Mark E. Rumley the person outside of city hall. Outside of the law office and city government, I believe Mark E. Rumley is a human being. So why does he put the second hat on and be a mean, malicious person as city lawyer. Ask me about Rumley's malice, there are many, many examples, and that's as sad as it is wrong.
Rumley is paid so much money, reportedly over $110k a year, that ANY dereliction of duty or alleged violation of his oath of office means that we, the people, need to come down on the city lawyer as hard as legally possible.
Public Records Requests, exploiting every misstep the solicitor makes, be it abuse of a city e mail or allegedly moonlighting with disgraced ex Somerville court clerk Robert "Ted" Tomasone on Thursdays, this is our civic duty. Rumley doesn't play fair, and these documents from the Secretary of State's office are part of the case I am building against Mark Rumley, and why I believe the solicitor needs to resign and leave, sooner than later.
That Mr. Rumley gets all huffy and puffy with Michael Marks, allegedly Rumley's own client as a city councilor, is a disgrace. It is an embarrassment to the community. But Mark doesn't give a damn, he has the microphone, and if memory is correct, Rumley was furious when I was at the council urging a class action suit against his pals on Medford Community Cablevision's board of directors, and the city itself.
The city lawyer, with his oath of office in hand, squelching my free speech when he says he would find it "repugnant" if anyone else squelched your free speech. Then he let that band of pirates do just that: interfere in your ability to learn computer skills after paying exorbitant rates to the cable companies.
That's how Mark E. Rumley ripped you off, and he punched you in the gut and kicked you when you were down. That's what a public servant did to the public when Rumley screwed you repeatedly regarding public access television.
IF Mr. Rumley were at a private law office he would have been fired over a decade ago for his antics.
So we have a political appointment who allegedly grew up with Mike McGlynn and the late Richard Lee and other insiders. Richard's brother, (is it former?) officer Jimmy Lee needed more than a slap on the wrist for allegedly breaking his marriage vows and then getting into an altercation with a woman he was allegedly having an affair with.
WHAT ARE THESE PUBLIC SERVANTS THINKING?
You just walk away. You don't engage in argument if you are hired to serve and protect.
But me exercising my First Amendment right to question these people is akin to walking straight into a firing squad.
Mr. Rumley called Frank, Harvey and Ronny and their ugly obstruction of free speech "equal opportunity slappers," and Mr. Rumley should know, he is every bit as nasty and arrogant as his former board members are.
So I don't take it personally when I see them go after so many senior citizens, lesbians and other minority people. They just go after me harder and longer because I won't quit exposing their behavior.
Had I walked away 12 years ago they would have come around and asked me to be part of the station again. Fuck 'em. McGlynn, Stephanie, Rumley, Neil Osborne, Fuck 'em all. Mackowski, Leo A. Sacco, Jr., Fuck 'em, Fuck 'em, FUCK 'EM!
Now, you might say, how can you be so nice to Rumley and others OFF THE CLOCK? (Stephanie and I waved at each other at Wegman's about a year ago...we all can play nice.) The reason:
it just appears, like Donald J. Trump, they are all up to no good, allegedly, while on the clock. That's all.
They DESPISE public records requests and my catching them in multiple fiascos involving the OPEN MEETING LAW, from failure to take exams to failure to ABIDE by the Open Meeting Law.
So this makes me THE GOOD GUY, and they paint me, of course, as the bad guy! But I'm just a guy who communicates well (no matter how many times Rumley will quote Judge Daniel Wrenn, trust me, Judge Wrenn knows I'm an excellent writer, and that these little parodies AREN'T to be believed! They are there to MAKE YOU THINK!)
Thinking is NOT what Mr. Rumley or Mrs. Muccini-Burke and certainly not Mike McGlynn or Leo Sacco want you to do.
They want you to kiss Roy Belson's bald head and get out of their space.
Problem is, it is NOT their space. It is YOUR space.
I'm just a good guy working hard for you.
I thought you would have figured that out by now, the Oracle says to Neo.
Look at how the Secretary of State's office is finding that Rumley's office is not being forthright with you, dear citizen.
Then you will know why Rumley calls me names, more vicious than Donald Trump on steroids.
Isn't it time your city solicitor grew up and started acting like the kind, benevolent man that he thinks he is; that he portrays himself to be?
Now look at this document again: my hard work and honest efforts - my gift to Medford.
Do you think the city law office should withhold information from people?
It's an election year. Fight and Fight hard.
These individuals in city government work for YOU, they are obligated to YOU. They hate you, they disrespect you, they make horrible things happen to you.
That has to end.
