Hello Dave (and Ken)
I
actually try to attend every council meeting or watch them on TV and
respectfully say that you don't have all the information to pass
judgment on the rudeness.
Mr.
Camuso intentionally antagonizes Mr. Penta, and it is well orchestrated
between three councilors, the other two being Adam Knight and Fred
Dello Russo Jr.
You
will find all three - Dello Russo, Knight and Camuso - voting in
unison, usually against Breanna Lungo-Koehn, Michael Marks and Bob
Penta.
Again, this is from carefully watching how it unfolds week after week.
Mr.
Penta was speaking on Ruth Balser's bill at the State House, Mr. Dello
Russo was tearing up the bill, loudly, while Penta was speaking.
Knight always throws in a "point of information" disrupting a councilor,
rudely, with Camuso giving a nod and saying "Good job."
The rudeness is there, it is orchestrated, and it is meant to disrupt Mr. Penta.
You
have to watch carefully and study it, so when you admit that you don't
watch week after week, you should be a bit more careful when accusing
the victim of the orchestrated "rudeness."
As
to the second part of your essay, as much as I like Chris D'Aveta as a
person, he's part of the Democratic City and Ward Committee which works
lockstep with the McGlynn Administration. I personally like Neil
Osborne yet his website notes "as well as serving on the City’s Community Development Board appointed by Mayor Michael MyGlynn. "
New
faces like Leonore Eforo and Neil McSweeney along with Bill O'Keefe,
Mark Crowley and incumbents Breanna Lungo-Koehn and Michael Marks, as
well as school committee person John Falco, would be an interesting new
city council free of the "rudeness" that currently exists solely because
of three councilors, two running for reelection.
Respectfully,
Joe Viglione

Rudeness: I don't watch or attend every council meeting, but those I
have seen featured nastiness mainly between Bob Penta and Paul Camuso,
neither of whom are running for re-election. Perhaps there are other
incumbents who also behave rudely, but I think we have an opportunity to
improve the level of discourse simply based on the departures from the
current council.

Voting for Individual candidates or slates: A group of three council
candidates held a meet-and-greet evening a few nights ago, supporting
each others' candidacies. Personally, I'm really excited by all three
candidates: Neil Osborne, Chris D'Aveta, and John Falco. I'm told that
these same candidates will hold another gathering in West Medford on
October 2. Since 4 is a majority on the council, I wish there was a 4th
candidate in the group, but I believe that all three of these candidates
can work positively in concert with other council members no matter who
else gets elected.
