TO THE CHAIR, Richard F. Caraviello

A CC is going to the Attorney General's office - not the Open Meeting Law division - to keep you people honest for this 2/20/18 open meeting in room 207.

I am requesting that the City Council of Medford have the public access station that we pay for TAPE/FILM/CABLECAST the
room 207 meeting on my Open Meeting Law complaint.  6:15 pm February 20th.  Ben Brown is in the CC.  Councilors Falco, Lungo-Koehn and Marks have stated in the past that they want room 207 meetings available to the public, here's their big chance to contact Ben Brown and have the meeting televised.

Furthermore, I intend to broadcast -via Facebook Live - the proceedings.   The spirit of the law, the very basis of the law, is the public's right to know.   Here is the statement from the Attorney General regarding this: "
Attorney General Maura Healey states on the OML site: "Every resident of Massachusetts should be able to access and understand the reasoning behind the government policy decisions that affect our lives. My office is working to achieve that goal through fair and consistent enforcement of the Open Meeting Law, along with robust educational outreach about the law's requirements."

Any funny business to deny the public the right to know on Feb 20th will be regarded as another alleged violation of the Open Meeting Law.   I will file accordingly if such a transgression occurs.

I expect the chair to comply with the law and not go into "Executive Session" now that I am requesting the meeting be broadcast on Facebook.  There is nowhere in the publication of this upcoming meeting that it states it is going to be an "Executive Session," also, the document notes that "aids and accommodations" are available, which indicates things will be "above board," as much as we can expect from this council, and that the public is invited.

In the posting of this meeting Mr. Caraviello notes "The purchase of this meeting is to address the Open Meeting Law complaint..." (see JPG enclosed)

There have been allegations over the years that meetings require purchasing.  If this is the case, how much money are citizens required to pony up  by/for  this council so that Adam Knight doesn't tear up paper when a Jeannie Martin is speaking to interrupt her 10 minutes, or Fred Dello Russo Jr. won't be slamming doors while Bob Penta has the floor.   I am not the only victim of this council's penchant for fracturing the First Amendment. (Mr. Rumley, you can have your thesaurus back now; didn't have to use it !)

If you can kindly tell us how much money we need to pay in advance to stop these annoyances, the meetings may flow better .  If this is a Freudian slip by Mr. Caraviello,, well, it's not the first time... The residents of Medford do not feel good paying Thirty Two Thousand Dollars to a council president who voted for his own pay raise and who has a tougher time writing than Adam Knight has speaking..

I will see you ON Tuesday,...no Freudian slip here...with my Facebook live in hand.

Sincerely,

VIGMUND FREUD!
