    Dear Mr. Campbell:

  • A simple three questions for candidates Penta and Burke.
The Medford Transcript noted that a total of $37,787.00 was not accounted for by TV3 Medford when they attempted to dissolve (which is being considered by Attorney General Maura Healey's public charities division as you read this.  AG and Public Charities cc:'d above.)

1)The City Solicitor gave a deadline of around July 24, 2014 for MCC president Frank Pilleri, clerk Harvey Alberg, director Arthur DeLuca and Vice President Ron DeLucia to comply.

They failed to comply.   Do Mrs. Burke and Mr. Penta think it fair that the City Solicitor make a promise to the citizens and cable tv subscribers, only to throw it in the lap of the AG's office  when the Mayor calls himself "Issuing Authority?"

2)As mayor, will Mr. Penta or Mrs. Burke demand restitution from the failed 501c3 which had board members utilizing the facilities, resources and airwaves while bullying members of the community to the point where the Mayor demanded they dissolve.

Restitution, of course, would be a lot more than the 37k or so in the Transcript article, there is the matter of salaries which vary from year to year as well as "advertising" monies on the financial records the public can see when no advertising that we know of was performed, and many, many, MANY other matters regarding TV3, along with the fact that Harvey Alberg's wife, Doria Pizzotti Alberg, was listed as the woman in charge of meeting minutes.  No meeting minutes for the past 7 years have been released to the public to date.

3)Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Alberg along with the TV3 webmaster and station manager seemed to all get swank apartments at 75 Station Landing, until the webmaster was charged with a false bomb threat and they all left for similar apartments in Malden and Revere.  How did an embattled station have four higher-ups coincidentally landing in apartments (especially when the webmaster admitted to the judge that he was on food stamps,) and did the McGlynn Administration hand out these perks while the public was screaming for public access and information on the finances as far back as 2003!

The Transcript article is enclosed.  Thank you.

According to the review, MCC’s $153,532 in remaining assets as of April 30 were transferred. Jacobson said the figure represents the value of the station’s equipment that was turned over to the city, and the figure does not include any cash.
According to the 990-EZ tax form Pilleri filed with the Internal Revenue Service, MCC had $133,342 in cash, savings and investments on May 1, 2013.
According to Jacobson’s review conducted for MCC, the organization had only $95,555 in expenses for the fiscal year ending April 30, 2014, indicating a positive balance.
Jacobson said he could not discuss the source or MCC’s use of the $133,342 because of privacy reasons.
Pilleri, however, said MCC’s accounts are empty.
