On February Ninth at City Hall I praised the City Solicitor, Mark Rumley, for being forward thinking on Free Speech.
In return, Rumley was talking to 3 police officers, and it is a good bet he - allegedly - was looking to censor the residents. Praise for those 3 good officers of the law who didn't seem to buy into it.
Suddenly, the City Council tried to stifle and squelch our free speech. They were trying, John Falco, to "table" a motion on the False Bomb Threat at the High School, information which seems to terrify Superintendent Belson, Solicitor Rumley, Fred Dello Russo, George Scarpelli and Police Chief Sacco. Why? Does it make them look incompetent, self-serving and a danger to real public safety (that's a rhetorical question.)
I was expecting Mark Rumley to come running up to the podium to save us, just like he fought with Councilor Marks, Mark Rumley acting like a 5 year old yelling "bring it on" or something when Marks correctly utilized his free speech to call Rumley and a woman "the Mayor's Henchmen."
Rumley talks a good game about free speech, but when he's called a Henchman by an elected official, he wilts like Freddie Dello Russo, Jr. talking to some tall guy Freddy seems oh so fond of!!!!
Mark Rumley wilted when TV3 bullied him.
He wilted like a flower. But Mr. Rumley has no problem bullying an over sixty senior citizen homosexual male who has the guts and integrity to expose Medford City Hall for the viper's den that it is.
Mark Rumley doesn't believe in free speech.
