Who to vote for ELECTION 2013 Medford, Massachusetts

133,758

Here's a response to a previous blog written by someone under an alias. It is hard to take aliases seriously during an election cycle.  Here's an answer to that from a human being who will be voting next Tuesday.

There are 7 seats to fill for City Council, one for Mayor.

1) Mayor Anthony D'Antonio
With so much power comes responsibility and Mike McGlynn was totally irresponsible with cable TV subscriber monies, River's Edge, Station Landing, potholes, crosswalks, empty storefronts, bringing businesses to Medford etc. etc.
Mayor D'Antonio will work hard to bring about change quickly, efficiently and with an eye toward helping the taxpayer get some relief.
There's an alleged "write-in candidate" who gives the late satirist and comedian, Pat Paulsen, much credibility - Paulsen joked each election cycle that he was a viable presidential candidate. Check this Wikipedia stuff out:
Paulsen's name appeared on the ballot in New Hampshire for the Democratic Primary several times. In 1996, he received 921 votes (1%) to finish second to President Bill Clinton (76,754 votes); this was actually ahead of real politicians such as Buffalo mayor James D. Griffin. In 1992 he came in second to George Bush in the North Dakota Republican Primary. In the 1992 Republican Party primaries he received 10,984 votes total.

D'Antonio is the real deal.  McGlynn is a master campaigner, D'Antonio cares about the people.  So who are you going to elect - someone good at campaigning, or someone good at making your life better? The choice is simple.

For City Council
James Morse
Mark Crowley
Breanna Lungo-Koehn
Robert M. Penta
Michael Marks
Robert Cappucci

Crowley, being a businessman, has some good ideas.  Jimmy Morse will work with Councilor Penta to safeguard the community when it comes to the Cradock bridge, public access TV, bringing some sanity to the council. If D'Antonio gets in the council will have more power because Tony D'Antonio wants to work with the council.

Michael Marks, Breanna Lungo-Koehn and Penta bring stability to the sea change that will occur with the replacement for Maiocco.

WHO NOT TO VOTE FOR
Adam Knight, Rick Caraviello, Neil Osborne, Paul Camuso and Freddy Dello Russo Jr. do the bidding of Michael J. McGlynn.  Bob Fitzpatrick could have won votes but he was sitting at the council last night and said more than when he was at candidates night, which was nothing.  Poor Jeanne Martin was schooled in how to pivot at a debate.  Rather than mumble over the Meadow Glen Mall she was told to pipe in on ANY issue to discuss the proposed new police station.  "What do you think of the Meadow Glen Mall" - Jeanne was told to say with a loaded question like that "You know, excellent question, what a great place to turn into a police station.  Move the businesses that want to remain to the new owners of the Wellington and let's build a state of the art modern facility for Medford in a central location down Locust St. right to the highway - more efficiently to Route 16 and the highway - Route 93 - than the present location."  Then Dr. Wood would hold his hand up for 10 seconds and Jeanne Martin would have thousands of votes.

Alas, she didn't listen to the man who taught her about public records requests and blogging on Patch and created her campaign slogan "Public Safety First."  No matter how much I respect Jeanne for her service to our great nation, and no matter how much I like her as a person, she derailed her campaign that moment as surely as Neil Osborn did with his "I me mine" video that was all about him and nothing about you.

That the individual who is charged with the alleged false bomb threat has endorsed Bob Fitzpatrick and Neil Osborne and neither came out to denounce the endorsement from McGlynn's disgraced pal, well, even an email from Senator Pat Jehlen that Fitzpatrick has nothing to do with the accused isn't good enough.  Fitzpatrick had to have the spine to come out and say it himself.  Bob Fitz seems too afraid of retaliation and that's not a sign of courage.

Rick Caraviello could have earned my vote had he not caved in so many times to the McGlynn regime.  He's a good guy, so is Adam Knight, but they don't need winter coats this year because they are comfy cozy nice and warm in McGlynn's back pocket, which is hell on earth.
Adam Knight's a nice guy, but a nice guy who wants to build an eight million dollar boondoggle garage for his royal highness Mike is not looking out for your best interests, he is looking in the mirror saying "Hi, Councilor Knight...Hi Councilor Knight...Hi Councilor Knight" ...like Neil Osborne and Paul Camuso.
Dello Russo does NOT want the job. He is bored.
Paul Camuso isn't even a city councilor. He is his Aunt Carol's puppet. Aunty Carol tells him how to vote. Aunty Carol tells him how to run a campaign.  Tell Aunty Carol to run for City Council if she wants to control our city and stop playing with nephew Charlie McCarthy Camuso.  We pushed Camuso's uncle Bob off of the podium, it's time for Camuso to go home and play chess with Uncle Bob and Aunt Carol and let the grown ups make decisions for this city.  Attorney Alan McDonald won't always be in the cheering section when Aunty Carol isn't available and Paul can't "phone a friend" or ask for a lifeline from Uncle Bob.
Keep in mind - McGlynn, Camuso and Dello Russo are EXCELLENT at campaigning, but terrible at governing.  Don't give a great campaigner the keys to the kingdom when there is proof positive those three in particular have done great damage to our city.
Your honor, Medford rests its case.
