MEDFORD TRANSCRIPT STORY ON
FALSE BOMB THREAT

A witness also told police Zappelli used to live at Station Landing before butting heads with the management over a no smoking policy. She also reported Zappelli posted negative comments about the management online once they started the process of evicting him.

Zappelli, 49, was subsequently arrested on Sept. 4 at his home at 21 Overlook Ridge Terrace in Revere on warrant charges of making a false bomb threat. Zappelli faces a potential 20 years in prison for the felony charges.

UPDATE FOR RESIDENTS

1)A letter was sent to the police and to the City Solicitor about the individual from the TV3 crowd at Somerville Court this morning.

2)The solicitor said the D.A.'s office is handling it.

3)The D.A.'s office said that:

---on September 4th there was an arraignment in Somerville District Court (same day that the Patch claims was the day of the arrest.)

---Today was the Pre-trial.  The charge is one count of a false bomb threat

---October 29th is the date for a "motion to dismiss."  The same date, coincidentally, as the Judge Jackson-Thompson evaluation.  Coincidental and appropriate.

---If the case moves forward there would be the Discovery hearing (for example, the Stanley Komins case goes to Discovery on November 7, nine days after the hearing for the TV3 individual)

---if an agreement cannot be reached, and if the case is moving forward, the next hearing after those would be a trial, unless a "Motion to Suppress" is filed prior to a trial.
