Danvers, MA

Dear John Coakley and Medford Transcript:

Every month cable subscribers spend a small fortune on P/E/G access television in Medford.  So why do we read in the August 2, 2017 edition of the online Medford Transcript that the current mayor promises an "Advisory Board" in the near future?

City Hall has pulled stunt after stunt to DENY the residents what State Rep Paul Donato called "the most protected right," political speech - ESPECIALLY during an election.  However, Mr. Donato fought harder for his own TV show when it was censored than he ever did for his constituents, this writer being Exhibit A. in that regard

1)Former Mayor McGlynn held two meetings at pizza shops with the now defunct MCC TV3 (shut down due to investigations by Joe Viglione, former councilor Robert Penta and Doreen Wade.)  McGlynn kept no notes of either meeting, all done behind closed doors so that the former mayor could skirt the Open Meeting Law, a public records request noting that there was nothing written at either of these highly suspicious meetings.  See the Medford Transcript for details

BREAKING NEWS: McGlynn holds meetings with TV3 - Wicked Local
Mayor Michael J. McGlynn today confirmed he had met with TV3 Board of Directors President Frank Pilleri on Aug. 14 at Bocelli's in South Medford and again on ...

2)Community Media Medford is a business that I own, registered at Medford City Hall.
MCC TV3 went to city hall and improperly filed that they owned the business, a former station manager (who defaulted on a court case, giving me the victory, and who signed a document to stay away from my home and Tony's gas) wrote his name on the fraudulent business certificate, not having a name from any of the board members which, I believe, would have been the proper thing to do (however still unethical and wrong when their job was to facilitate programming, not decimate it.)
But it's a moot point now that they have lost the contract.

Note that the Transcript quotes Brown using a title similar to my business "According to Brown, the Community Media Center will be an inclusive space for all."

3)In March of 2016, 17 months ago, Mayor Burke promised the access station would be open in October of 2016.  Now she can't even tell us when an Advisory Board will be in place

4)On June 14, 2017 this writer discovered that there was a Radio / Television Advisory Board in place.  After I filed a complaint on the alleged violation of the open meeting law both the city lawyer and the school superintendent responded with the same "ooops...the dog ate the homework" reply that the underhanded and unethical city clerk, Edward P. Finn, attempted to use on the unsuspecting public when he "couldn't find" the ten year Comcast contract.  Until, of course, this writer brought it to the attention of the - at that point - enraged city council.  Intentionally left out of the loop.

City Solicitor Mark Rumley has a penchant for knee-jerk reactions calling these facts "rants."

The solicitor, the best example of why term limits work that I can think of, is a broken record perpetually denying the public its First Amendment platform while yelling from the rooftops that he's the biggest proponent of free speech in the history of the world.  He and Donald Trump. Pathological liars with not one scintilla of honesty in their body language, both conveying regrettable speech and deplorable, phony tactics.  It's a total dereliction of duty by Mark E. Rumley and it's a disgrace that the solicitor is paid so handsomely to obstruct civil discourse on the access channel - Rumley's actions deserving strong condemnation.  But at 30K a year in bloated salaries don't expect Michael Marks, John Falco or George Scarpelli to show any ethics and come running to the rescue. The only running they do is when their paycheck comes in the mail: they take the money and run.  Cowards.

Look, Benjamin Brown is a nice enough kid, but he does not have the life experience to bring the vision discussed in the Transcript to the real world.  He can't being handcuffed by Muccini-Burke and Roy E. Belson, two of the most politically dishonest government officials any citizen has had the bad luck to have operating in their municipality.

Embattled Belson had to have his stealth bomber twist the arms of school committee people, we hear, when there were two petitions circulating to demand his removal. Even the new Diversity Director, Neil Osborne, agreed and thanked Belson for his service and pointed to the door.  But Belson, having long worn out his welcome, would rather send out vulgar e mails and show exactly why he is unfit to supervise your children.

We seniors also don't like the idea of having to drive up to a creepy school set back on the Winchester line in the cold, dark of winter, McGlynn and Burke going against their own tribunal (Fred Laskey, Rev Chip Hines and Allison Goldsberry) which wanted the P/E/G station centrally located.  Why do that when Belson can't keep an eye on the censorship tactics city clerk Ed Finn employs when multiple residents write petitions only to see them rearranged by an unqualified hack, Mr. Finn.  It's how Medford operates and it is hardly what cable TV subscribers deserve paying so much for our cable TV.

When this writer began hosting access television in 1979, the very dawn of access TV, there was not even a Somerville Media Center, where I now produce radio, television and Facebook live.  My pioneering use of Facebook live to "film" Room 201 and Room 207 meetings at Medford city hall, or at the senior center with Chief Sacco, brings government activity into the homes of people who do not (as well as those who do) subscribe to cable TV.

Mayor Muccini-Burke is terrified of access television and any transparency, like her predecessor, Michael J. McGlynn.  During an election cycle there's no way in hell Muccini-Burke wants any discussion of an alleged sex crime at the high school allegedly between a teacher and a powerful politician's daughter.  When the allegations are that a massive Watergate-style cover-up ordered allegedly by the former director of personnel (Mrs. Burke,) the police chief, Leo A. Sacco, Jr. - allegedly, the superintendent of schools, Roy E. "Joe thinks I hide sexual predators at the high school" Belson (actual quote, November 2016 at the access station) and (allegedly) the former mayor occurred and the alleged naughty naughty liaison was swept under the rug, ( Allegedly )  well, you can kiss access TV goodbye when those kind of rumors are rife in this city.  This SEX in the City Episode in a crossover with the lost tapes/files of Tony Soprano.

The McGlynn Media Blackout was installed just to prevent that particular subject and the trial of accused teacher/sex allegation - defendant Jenna Tarabelsi - or City Councilor George Scarpelli's big problem being a defendant in the Galileo Mondol trial regarding the vicious and violent rape in Western Mass, on Scarpelli's watch, or the allegations against a now-retired teacher with a pension who never alerted the powers that be that he allegedly had assaulted someone and his dalliance(s) with a "former" student (not according to a document that I received ...allegedly far more explicit than the city led us to believe) ... ha - that stuff ain't going out on the airwaves if these overpaid and unprincipled individuals can help it.

Are you kidding?  Really... ARE YOU KIDDING?

Access TV in an election cycle with these clowns attempting to hold on to power?

IN your dreams.  And those of us with ANY experience in access TV are being kept in the dark on what those sneaky government types are up to with OUR MONEY and OUR FREE SPEECH.

The highly amoral Stephanie Muccini-Burke wants none of what Paul Donato calls "the most protected right."  My good friend Mr. Donato, a man I've known about 45 or 46 years now, should stand up and fight for our rights.  Right, Paul.

Paul?  Paul?  ...

Mr. Donato - one of the most powerful men on Beacon Hill, is as terrified of Mike McGlynn and Stephanie Muccini-Burke as Muccini-Burke and McGlynn are terrified of transparency and access TV

And before Mark Rumley goes mouthing off again, stuff it, buddy. Just give us our access TV, because as powerful as Mr. Rumley is - the man who shared an office with Mr. Donato - the castration of Rumley (and Donato) ordered by McGlynn was satisfied immediately.  As their manhood was shredded on the butcher block they both thanked McGlynn profusely and bought him a bouquet.

Say what you want about me, one thing is for sure, I am persistent, I am determined, I have the facts and this city does not have access television during another election cycle.

You do the math and consider just how ugly the sins of city hall REALLY are for them to demand no access TV so that the voters have not a clue as to their unscrupulous shenanigans.

More to come.

The Advisory Board will be appointed in the near future. Brown, along with the Advisory Board, will be tasked with branding the new station.

In rebranding the new station, Brown hopes to break the “Wayne’s World
perception” that many hold of public access programming, and build a new identity.

According to Brown, the Community Media Center will be an inclusive space for all.
