Mayor Stephanie M. Burke formally announced the appointment of Benjamin Brown as the Station Manager for the new public access station and community media center, located at the Medford Vocational and Technical High School.
Mr. Brown received a Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production from the New England Institute of Art. He most recently worked as a technology and operations manager for Brookline Interactive Group and a freelance technical director and video engineer for AVI Staging.

In this position, Mr. Brown will work cooperatively with an Advisory Board of Directors for the Cable Access Channel and the Medford Public Schools to maintain day to day operations, training staff of the Media Technology studio and provide programming as well as studio services to the Medford Public Education Government (PEG) Channel on a timely and consistent basis.

The Advisory Board will be appointed in the near future. Mr. Brown, along with the Advisory Board, will be tasked with branding the new station.

THE ACCESS TV MANAGER SHOULD NOT BE WORKING WITH THE STUDENTS WHEN THE EDUCATIONAL CHANNEL HAS ITS OWN FUNDING

“We look forward to working with Ben to make this great new facility both a very successful community access program and a significant educational opportunity for Medford students,” said Superintendent of the Medford Public Schools Roy Belson.

“The City of Medford is very fortunate to have Ben as the Station Manager for our new community media center,” said Mayor Stephanie M. Burke. “His expertise in managing employees and developing plans for technology within an organization will provide insight for operational use and more.”
